This official notification from Indira Gandhi Krishi Vishwavidyalaya, dated July 23, 2026, announces revised regulations for conducting thesis viva-voce examinations for PG and Ph.D. programs, effective retrospectively from April 25, 2026. For Master's degrees, once a positive external evaluation is received, the HOD or Dean will schedule the viva-voce, which must be conducted after the student implements the examiner's suggested corrections. For Ph.D. candidates, the Director of Instructions will schedule the viva-voce and name the external examiner once positive reports are received, with the oral exam permitted in either offline or online formats. Additionally, viva-voce examinations for out-campus students will be conducted at their respective colleges under the chairmanship of the local Dean, who must invite the relevant Head of Department from the headquarters to participate.
